For middle and high school students with at least one year of playing experience. We’ll spend the summer learning some of the fundamentals of jazz: swing feel, articulation, improvisation, and how to listen and respond as an ensemble. By the end, students will have real ensemble experience and a lot more confidence in the style.
The session wraps up with two performances: City Park Jazz on August 2 and the Summer Recital on August 15.
Tuesdays, 10:00–11:30am, starting June 9. Bring your instrument; everything else is provided.
