Irish Fiddling Class | Traditional Folk Music for Strings | Do Re Mi Lessons

A fun introduction to traditional Irish music for violin, viola, and cello students with at least one year of playing experience.

We’ll learn a handful of traditional tunes including Harvest Home and Swallowtail Jig, using them to dig into the basics of fiddle style: ornamentation, improvisation, playing backup, and how these tunes are structured. Along the way, we’ll explore how folk traditions are passed down, encouraging creativity, listening, and musical expression.

The class includes an optional performance at the Summer Recital in Littleton on August 15.

Wednesdays at 10:00am, starting June 3. No rehearsal June 17 or July 1. Bring your instrument; everything else is provided.

Tuition: $150
