Woodwind Lessons Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute

Kim has been performing and teaching woodwind lessons for the past 29 years.  She holds a degree in Music Performance on the flute from DePauw University with a jazz studies minor on the saxophone.  Currently, Kim is the assistant conductor and lead saxophonist of the Mile High Community Band in Denver. She is the baritone saxophonist of the John Philip Sousa Band. Kim has performed as a soloist with the Canyon Winds Band in Colorado Springs and the Mile High Community Band in Denver. Some of her notable flute instructors include Anne Reynolds of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Rebecca Arrensen of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Barbara Gisler-Haase of the Vienna Conservatory of Music.  Kim studied saxophone under Randy Salman of DePaul University.  As an alum of Interlochen Arts Camp, she spent a semester studying flute and opera in Vienna, Austria. There she performed in masterclasses under Barthold Kuijken, Bradley Garner, Brooke Ferguson, Erica Peele, Thomas Robertello, and Barbara Kallaur.  She has had the opportunity to attend masterclasses led by Sir James Galway, Walfrid Kujala, and Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. Lessons with kim are catered to each individual student, trying to build on their strengths. Her students are regularly accepted into Jeffco All County and Colorado All State Bands. Many receive first divisions at Solo And Ensemble Festivals. Kim looks forward to working with students of all ages and abilities at Do Re Mi.
