Joe Walsh

Tuba Lessons Baritone Lessons

Joe received his Bachelors degree in 2005, and Masters degree in 2007 in tuba performance from the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. Joe played in nearly all the
ensembles at DU including, Lamont Symphony Orchestra, Lamont Wind Ensemble, Lamont Jazz Orchestra on trombone, and Brass Quintets and Tuba Quartets.
Since graduating Joe has maintained an active playing career throughout Colorado. He has held the position of Principal Tubist with the San Juan Symphony, Longmont Symphony, and Denver Philharmonic. He has also played with the Cheyenne Symphony, Littleton Symphony, and Rocky Mountain Brass Works. Currently Joe is BBb tubist with the award-winning Pikes Peak Brass Band in Colorado Springs. Joe is also the tuba player in the Tivoli Club Brass Band.
Joe has had a busy career as a music educator throughout the Denver Metro area. Additionally, Joe served as the director of the Pioneer Pep Band at the University of Denver from 2009 to 2020. He teaches at Ascent Classical Academy in Douglas County where he teaches general music and band. He has served on staff at many High School band programs as a brass instructor including Legacy HS, Englewood HS, Castle View HS, Arapahoe HS, and Conifer HS. Joe has also taught private brass lessons for nearly 20 years. Many of his students have performed in All State Honor Ensembles and gone on to earn music scholarships.
Joe enjoys most helping students find the joy and wonder in performing music.

French Horn Lessons

Ashley Gulbranson

French Horn Lessons in Littleton CO.

Ashley Gulbranson is a freelance musician and educator based out of Boulder, Colorado. As a teaching artist, Ashley has taught at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Camp, the University of Colorado High School Summer Music Academy. She has served as the Graduate Horn Studio Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder and the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee.

She has performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Stratus Chamber Orchestra, the Boulder Symphony Orchestra, and the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra. As an active chamber musician, Ashley has held positions with the Interlochen Faculty Brass Ensemble, the Five O’Clock Brass Quintet, and the Lakefront Brass Quintet.

In addition to playing the horn, Ashley is also an experienced conductor and has served as the conductor for the University of Colorado Horn Choir, the Interlochen Intermediate Brass Ensemble, the Milwaukee Youth Horn Choir, and the Appel Farm Arts Camp Orchestra and Brass Choir.

Beyond teaching brass lessons and performing, Ashley is an active researcher in the area of wellness in horn performance and pedagogy. She is the founder of the blog “The Healthy Horn Player” with an international following from over 45 countries. Additionally, she has published in the International Horn Society’s journal, The Horn Call.

Ashley earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in horn performance and pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder, a Master of Music degree in horn performance and chamber music from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and a Bachelor of Music degree in horn performance and music education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Her primary instructors include Michael Thornton, Greg Flint, and Patrick Miles.

Trumpet LessoonsDonald Williams

Trumpet Lessons in Littleton CO.

A long-time resident of Colorado, Don completed his Master’s degree in trumpet performance at the University of Colorado. He also received his Bachelor’s degree in music from UNC in Greeley.
He is currently Second / Associate Principal trumpet in the Wyoming, Steamboat Springs, and San Juan Symphonies. Don is a member of the Colorado State University – Pueblo faculty brass quintet.

For more than two decades, Don has maintained a large private studio of students of all ages. This includes beginners all the way to retirees looking to get back into playing. In addition to spending time as a marching band trumpet tech at the high school level, he has also given master classes at colleges in Texas, Washington, and Wyoming. Every summer, Don teaches brass lessons in Estes Park at the Rocky Ridge Music Center. Don is on the faculty at Casper College as their trumpet instructor.

Don has performed with the Breckenridge Music Festival Brass Ensemble, the
University of Wyoming Faculty brass quintet, and has just finished his tenth year playing with the Best Brass of Farmington, an 11-piece brass ensemble based in the northern New Mexico area. He has also performed with the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, the Cheyenne Symphony, the Fort Collins Symphony, the Greeley Philharmonic, and the Chamber Orchestra of Colorado Springs.
Don is a founding member of the Apollo Chamber Brass, a non-profit organization dedicated to educational outreach and assisting school band programs. As an active private instructor and clinician Don maintains a large private studio. Furthermore, Don is in his third year as an instructor with Opening Notes – part of the Littleton Community Music Association. Additionally, he is currently on faculty for the Rocky Ridge Music Center’s Summer Music Programs in Estes Park. He has performed as a guest artist and / or presented master classes with the Fort Collins Wind Symphony (as a member of the Apollo Chamber Brass, performing Eric Ewazen’s Shadowcatcher), at the University of Wyoming, Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas, Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, and Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.

Don lives in Littleton, Colorado with his wife, son, daughter, and their two cats.

Jeff Young

Trombone and Baritone lessons in Littleton CO.

Jeff is a music educator in the Aurora Public Schools in Aurora, Colorado. He
received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, and a Master of Music from the University of Colorado. Jeff has been repeatedly called upon to play with some of the most legendary and revolutionary musicians in the world. Some of those performances include working with: Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, Peaches and Herb, Bobby Vinton, Maria Schneider, The Delfonics, The Manhattans, and Delfeayo Marsalis and the Uptown Jazz Orchestra. Locally, Jeffrey performs with Ron Ivory and the Miles Apart Band. He is also a member of the Denver based band Jakarta.

Jon Gauer is a trombonist and vocalist with professional performance experience in all styles and a discography of over 30 albums. He performs with numerous local ensembles, including The Cat’s Glasses (formerly the Jon Gauer Octet), Vanimal Kingdom, Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, Performance Now Theatre Company, and more. He is also active in the music education community, with over 10 years of experience teaching private lessons, and has several former students who are now professional musicians themselves.
