We have been invited to play the Star Spangled Banner for a DU Men’s Hockey game.
On Saturday, November 24th, the University of Denver Men’s Ice Hockey team will take on the Providence Friars. Our students at Do Re Mi Lessons have been invited to play the National Anthem prior to the game!
All instruments, all levels and all ages can perform. In fact, even family members that are interested in performing are welcome to play along. We have prepared a custom orchestration of the anthem to accommodate all abilities and a wide assortment of instruments. From violin and guitar, to glockenspiel and melodica. If Do Re Mi teaches it, you can play it at the game.
This is a great performance opportunity for our students. They will get the chance to perform in front of people. It also allows them the experience of performing in a group. Not to mention, the students get to hang out and watch the game after their performance. Lots of valuable experiences wrapped up into a fun, low pressure environment.
Friends and family of the performers will be able to purchase discounted tickets to the event as well. Aunt Jenny and bff Jim can support their favorite musician and cheer on the Pioneers.

Other things you need to do:
- Learn the music. We’ll email it to you when you sign up. Your teacher will help you if you need help.
- Come to rehearsal. There will be two rehearsals. Saturday, November 10, 1:00-2:30 and Sunday, November 18, 5:00-6:30. All performers must attend at least one rehearsal. Coming to both is preferred.
- Come to the gig! Be at the Ritchie Center by 5:45 to warm up. The game is at 7:00.
The game is Saturday, November 24th at 7pm. We ask that everyone arrive at the Ritchie Center by 5:45 to warm up and be ready. Parking and light-rail information can be found at the bottom of this page. We have to ask that all of our families arrange their own transportation before and after the performance.
The fee for this event is $30 per performer. That includes your music, rehearsal time and a Do-Re-Mi shirt to wear to the performance (required). If you already have a Do-Re-Mi shirt the fee is $20.
